Discover Ottawa’s Year-Round Appeal

In a city with four true seasons, Ottawans embrace the unique experiences that come with the changing of the calendar. A classic Canadian winter is filled with ice skating and snow. Spring brings glorious tulips before the hot and sunny summers open the door to outdoor fun. And fall comes to life with captivatingly colourful foliage on Ottawa’s many trees. Ottawa offers something for everyone, no matter what time of year you visit!

Summer

Ottawa comes to life during the sunny summer. Explore on two wheels with extensive riverside bicycle paths or take to the water with a canoe and kayak experience on our famous canals. Or venture outside the city for wilderness adventures, thrilling water parks, and glorious golf courses.

Fall

Ottawa is surrounded by beautiful natural and wilderness areas, making it an ideal place to take in the majesty of fall colours. Leaves turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow, and the cooler temperatures provide a perfect atmosphere for exploring outdoors.

Winter

Ottawa is world-famous for its picturesque winters and the city truly embraces the snowy months of the year. Skiing, snowshoeing, and skating are all popular pastimes. In fact, Ottawa is home to the longest outdoor skating rink in the world – the 7.8-kilometre Rideau Canal which is right outside of Fairmont Chateau Laurier.
